Near the 4th Avenue entrance in the lobby, this cozy spot changes as the day progresses. First thing in the morning, you can order a latte with a flaky pastry, and by lunchtime, you can choose from a full lunch menu. A full dinner menu accented with weekly specials finishes out the day. Between 2 and 10 p.m., the Whale’s Tail Restaurant also offers a tempting array of small plates to suit any craving, from a cheese plate to a tempura-shrimp martini or oysters Rockefeller—any of which goes beautifully with one of the 30 available wines by the glass.
